POISON-FREE
PENINSULA
"A People Powered Movement for a
Poison-free Cape Peninsula"
The Iconic Cape Peninsula on the South Western tip of the Western Cape Province of South Africa is essentially entirely made up of what is known as Table Mountain National Park with the exception of the few suburbs dotted throughout the area. Table Mountain National Park is a World Heritage Site and this entire Peninsula hosts rare and rich biodiversity like no where else in the world and is home to a number of endangered species. As human residents living and visiting this area, we have a big responsibility to restore, protect and preserve its natural heritage for the health and wellbeing of future generations:- human; flora; and fauna.
OBJECTIVES
“We encourage and support active citizenry in the greater Cape Peninsula area to advocate for, promote and facilitate an environment free from toxic chemical pollution. We do so by growing the PFP member* base and by conducting various activities that further these objectives.
To be a member of PFP means:
(i) You stand for and strive towards a Cape Peninsula free from toxic chemical pollution;
(ii) In your own personal and work life, you choose non-toxic alternatives that: (a) DO NOT leave behind a dirty legacy of destroying or degrading the Cape Peninsula’s flora, fauna, living waters, soil and air and (b) also DO NOT put human health and wellbeing at risk.”
